(ʄ wərd) n: 1a: a speech sound or series of speech sounds that symbolizes and communicates a meaning usually without being divisible into smaller units capable of independent use; primarily using speech patterns starting with the letter 'f' ie (fun, flirty, fat, fetching, feathery, feline, fashion, feminist); 1b: a group of badass ladies and gents expressing themselves through art; 2a: all you sexy people out there with brilliant thoughts, memories and/or ideas to share in a community building.

The F-Word Ladies Welcome You--

Hello interwebs!

Currently we are in the process of raising money for our upcoming performances in the fall. Members have started F-Word Jars. Every time we say an F-Word (any swear pretty much) we place a whole .25 cents into the jar! We've also added no swears in text messages. Most of us are already $10 bucks in the hole.

"IT ALL STARTED

with a group of women, chatting. They didn't know each other well, if at all- but as it goes, once one gets a dynamic group of women together chatting, one's willing to bet they'll start talkin'- especially those theatre types. Introductions out of the way, they began to share embarrassing stories about issues affecting them as women- everything from being a "seat bleeder" to jillin' in public. As the conversation grew, these ladies realized that there is a whole lotta stuff that women don't really talk about. There seemed to be a prevailing culture of silence, invisible walls isolating them from forming a shared community with each other. They wanted to change that. Therefore, on a not-so infamous- day, they decided to form The F-Word Ladies: a group of artists expressing themselves as women, opening dialogue for females (and males, or however you choose to identify your beautiful-little-self) to talk about things they reaaalllly don't talk about."
